So often, one of the first questions a prospective client asks us is, "What will it cost?" While we always endeavor to provide cost-effective services, it's important to remember that quality and cost most often go hand-in-hand. Web sites don't have to cost a fortune, but they ought to be constructed with attention to current web standards, usability, and functionality, and our web designers work closely with you along the way to ensure this. We like to say it boils down to building web sites that communicate effectively.

Web Site Design Prices

Standard Web Site: For establishing a basic presence on the Internet without the expense and hassle of large-scale site development.

Includes up to six pages, as well as the added flexibility of guest books or order forms. If you don't have a "domain name" we will register it for you. This option can easily grow into a larger site as your needs and interests evolve. This type of site does not include database integration or advanced design work such as Flash.
Price: $1,000 and up. Note that domain registration fees are not included. A monthly fee will apply for hosting the site. We can setup hosting for as little as $12.50 per month.

E-Commerce Web Site: For businesses interested in creating a permanent, vital retail presence on the Internet.

This package is the same as the Standard web site but includes implementation of shopping cart features, and virtually unlimited pages and features.
Price: $1,700 and up depending on your needs. (A $1,700 E-commerce site would include full functionality, secure transactions, and shopping cart system.) A monthly hosting fee will apply, depending on your needs. If hosted with Digital Brushstrokes this can be as little as $20.00 per month.

Secure transactions can be accomplished by using PayPal or by purchasing your own SSL certificate. This will allow you to accept credit cards on-line and validating the transaction using your own credit card validation machine. This feature adds the "https" feature to your site which enables true 128 bit encryption for your credit card request forms or for anything you require secure transactions for! SSL certificates incur an annual fee starting at approximately $150 or higher depending on the Company providing the SSL.

Additional services beyond initial package:

Per-page fee: It is difficult to determine the exact per-page fee for a given site, but in general, when new sections are added to your site beyond the initial package you should expect to pay about $90 per page.

Database integration and Active Server Pages: Databases are used on the Internet to manage larger amounts of information. They can also be used as a means to allow the web site owner to manage content without learning any programming. We bill at $55 per hour for database work and Active Server Pages work. The total prices for these implementations will vary depending on complexity.

Pre-written Copy: Your existing advertising copy or marketing information can be incorporated directly into your Web pages as is. Providing the copy in electronic format (such as in MS Word format) can reduce your costs.

Original Copy: Digital Brushstrokes can write the copy for your Web site if you wish (this may incur additional cost).

Interactive elements: Guest books, order forms, survey forms, applications, interactive feedback and comment forms, financial calculators, etc. are all considered interactive elements. Some of these may be included in your initial package.

Graphics: Scanning of your existing logos, as well as the creation of original icons, click able image maps, and scanned slides and photos are all included in the initial package. Graphics work on an ongoing basis is billed at $50 per hour. This would include all new original graphic design, animated graphics including rollovers, banner ads and logo creation.

Initial Consultation: Its important for us to understand your business and your objectives with your web site. We like to determine:

• What your business does and how you do it.
• How involved you want to be with the daily operation of your site.
• Your marketing strategies and needs.
• Your target audience.
• Your corporate image.
• What you would like to see in your Web site.
• What you expect you web site will do for you.

Layout Review: This discussion allows us to present to you our plans for developing your Internet presence and fine tune those plans based on your feedback. We discuss:

• The specific information that will appear on your Web site.
• How that information will be broken down into separate pages.
• The basic look and feel of your Web site, including the visual layout, color scheme and types of graphics to use.
• How people will interact with your site: e-mail, order forms, guest books, etc.

Final Review: This discussion allows us to go over the results of the development process and make sure that everything meets your satisfaction. 

Advertising Your Web Site

Internet Search Engines: Digital Brushstrokes will design your site to cooperate with Google and the other major search engines. For an additional fee we can provide ongoing search engine listing and maintenance. For more info, visit our additional services page.
